Cytology [CYT]
Air dried smears of a fine needle aspirate,impression or scrape.
Effusions [FLUI]
Fluid in EDTA and plain tubes.Cytological examination, physical description, nucleated cell count and differential, RBC count, total proteins, albumin, globulin, albumin:globulin ratio.
Chylous Effusions [CYTCE]
As above plus cholesterol, triglyceride and ratio.
Synovial Fluid [JFCY]
Fluid in EDTA and plain tubes, air dried smear.Cytological examination, physical description, nucleated cell count and differential, RBC count, total proteins, viscosity and mucin clot test.
Cerebro-spinal fluid [CSF]
Fluid in EDTA.Cytological examination, physical description, nucleated cell count, RBC count and total proteins.
Bone Marrow [CYTbm]
Air dried bone marrow smears and EDTA blood.Differential count, M:E ratio and full haematology on peripheral blood.
Bacterial Culture [BACC]
Added to any effusion, CSF or synovial Fluid.
