Companion Animals Biochemistry
Animals should be fasted for a minimum of 12 hours prior to sampling.Please refer to the Companion Animal Test table for full details of each profile. Please remember extended profiles require larger amounts of serum and submit a minimum of 2ml of clotted blood if possible. Canine Maxi Health Screen [CMHS] Serum (clotted blood) and fresh blood smear.Extended profile. Includes electrolytes, amylase, lipase and cholesterol. Old Dog Profile [ODP] Serum (clotted blood) and fluoride oxalate blood.For dogs > 6 years old, endocrinopathies. SA Liver Profile [SLIV] Serum (clotted blood): fasted and 2 hours post feeding.Includes pre and post prandial bile acids and total bilirubin. SA Kidney Profile [KID] Serum (clotted blood).Includes electrolytes and serum proteins. Now includes urine deposit microscopy, biochemistry and specific gravity. SA Liver and Kidney Profile [SLK] Serum (clotted blood): fasted and 2 hours post feeding.
